Dua Lipa was born on 22nd August, 1995 in London the United Kingdom. Dua Lipa signed to Warner Bros Records after a several years of hard work. She released a self-titled first album in the year 2017. The album peaked at 3rd place on the U.K. Albums Chart and produced eight singles which included Be the One I.D.G.A.F and the U.K. top-ranked track New Rules which peaked at number six in the United States. Lipa was awarded the Brit Award in the year 2018 for British Female Soloist as well as British Breakthrough Artist. The album has been certified platinum in a number of countries. Dua Lipa was born August 22, 1995, in London with Kosovo Albanian Anesa Rexha, and Dukagjin Lipa. Her maternal grandmother is Bosnian. Her ancestry can be traced back to Peja which is a city located in Kosovo. Her grandparents were both historians and professors. Lipa is the younger sister of Rina Lipa and a younger brother named Gjin. Lipa's father, the guitarist and lead singer of Kosovan group Oda, influenced her musically. Lipa started singing at the age of was five years old. In the age of nine she learned how to sing. Lipa covered Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, and If Ain't Get You from Alicia Keys. In 2014, Lipa signed a record deal to Warner Bros. Records. The singer released her debut single New Love in August of 2015.
