Her grandparents Ronald Biles (and her sister Adria) adopted them. The Biles family grew up in the Houston metropolitan area. Simone's love for gymnastics first began when she was just six years old when she took a trip with her group of daycare children to Bannon Gymnastix. Simone remained in the hands of Aimee Borman as coach until the year 2011. Biles won a gold in the floor and bronze in vault at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010 before breaking into the elite competition in the year 2011. The following year Biles was the king of the field. Biles was notable for her consistency in performance, vivacious character, as well as the difficult routines she performed across the four events she competed in such as vault, bars with uneven surfaces, and balance beam.
